My running journey, marathons to ultras

The thrill of a marathon's start line to the relentless determination required for ultramarathons

My Marathon Milestones

Marathons and ultras

To date, I've completed around 90 marathons and ultramarathons. Each race is a unique challenge, pushing the boundaries of endurance and mental strength. Whether it's the iconic 26.2 miles of a marathon or the daunting distances of an ultramarathon, these races have taught me the importance of resilience and unwavering determination.

The challenges

I have done 3 marathons in 3 days (Beachy Head, Leicester & Dublin), 12 marathons in 12 months and the 100km Race to the Stones ultramarathon on 4 occasions. I have done the London Marathon a dozen times and run both Amsterdam and London in a gorilla costume! Marathons and ultras test not only my physical endurance but also my mental fortitude. Crossing the finish line of a 100km ultramarathon is a moment of immense pride and a testament to the power of dedication and training, and more than a bit of relief too!

The Ivanhoe Runners: 20 Years of Camaraderie

The Passion for Running

It's a journey that has taught me the value of discipline, persistence, and pushing beyond perceived limits. Whether it's a marathon, an ultramarathon, or a simple run through the neighbourhood, each step is a testament to the human spirit's ability to endure and thrive.
